Martin Flick, CEO of Olive Communications has been named as one of LDC’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2020.

Now in its third year, the programme, which is supported by The Telegraph, celebrates the inspiring leaders behind some of the UK’s most successful and fast-growing medium-sized firms.

There were more than 350 nominations and those profiled hail from every corner of the country, operate across a multitude of industries, employ more than 5,250 people and collectively contribute more than £1bn to the UK economy.

Martin Flick is an industry trailblazer. A highly experienced, dynamic and motivational CEO, Flick provides exceptional leadership to Olive as the leading provider of managed cloud communications solutions to high-growth SME’s and enterprise organisations.

Skilled in business strategy and growth, M&A, sales, marketing, investor management and transformational change, Flick steers Olive with inspirational leadership, taking Olive to £32million turnover through significant organic growth, numerous acquisitions and significant investment.

2019 saw Olive make a six-figure investment in a new Cloud Managed Service Platform, built to enable Olive customers to manage multiple vendors in one intuitive digital interface, allowing for simple cost analysis and a single view of the businesses technology portfolio. Last year Flick announced global expansion plans with the opening of an Australian based HQ to support Olive’s global customer base.

Flick had this to say:

“I am incredibly honoured to be included in such an illustrious list of individuals, and from such a respected and well recognised authority on entrepreneurial growth. This year has without shadow of a doubt been challenging for all UK businesses, but the true test of any business during this time is the quality of its leadership team. I cannot take the credit for this accolade alone, it’s as a result of the hard work and effort of the entire management team at Olive and as I mentioned in my Q&A, with my team’s support I feel we can achieve anything, and overcome every challenge.”

John Garner of LDC added: “The UK has a long-standing reputation for its entrepreneurial endeavour, but there has never been a more important time to recognise or back ambition in British business. The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders aims to do just that. All of the inspiring leaders featured in our Top 50 this year have driven their business forward during a period of adversity, whether by expanding internationally, delivering real innovation, showcasing resilience or making a difference in their communities. They all deserve their place and I look forward to seeing their continued success.”

LDC is the UK’s leading mid-market private equity firm. Backed by Lloyds Banking Group, LDC is committed to investing £1.2bn over the next three years to support the ambitions of management teams leading mid-market businesses across the UK.
